Coverage options

The right coverage for where you are in life

Whether you want lifelong protection that builds value, coverage for the years your family depends on you most, or help with a mortgage, there’s a policy built for it.

Term life

Coverage for a set period, typically 10, 20 or 30 years, while your family depends on your income most. Often the most affordable way to get a large amount of protection.

Whole life

Lifelong coverage with fixed premiums and a guaranteed cash value that grows over time.

Mortgage protection

Coverage sized to your mortgage, so your family can stay in the home if something happens to you.

Final expense

A smaller whole life policy designed to cover funeral and end-of-life costs, with a simple application and no medical exam.

Coverage review

Already have a policy? We’ll look at what you have, check whether it still fits your family, and explain any gaps in plain English.

When your family needs it, we’re here

If you’ve lost someone, we’re so sorry. You don’t have to figure this out alone. Here’s what the process looks like, and we’ll guide you through each step.

  1. Reach out first

Let us know what happened. You’ll get help understanding what comes next and contacting the insurance company.

  2. Gather a few documents

Usually a certified copy of the death certificate and the policy number. You’ll be told exactly what the insurer needs.

  3. File the claim

We’ll help you complete the claim forms, submit them to the insurer and follow up, so you’re never left wondering where things stand.

  4. The benefit is paid

Once the insurer approves the claim, the benefit is paid to the beneficiaries, usually as a single lump sum.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Email us and you’ll get an answer within 1 business day.

How much life insurance do I need?

A common starting point is about 10 times your yearly income, plus debts like a mortgage and future costs like college. The right number depends on your family, so we’ll help you work it out.

What’s the difference between term and permanent coverage?

Term life covers you for a set number of years and usually costs the least. Permanent coverage, like whole life or indexed universal life, can last your whole life and builds cash value, so it costs more each month.

How does indexed universal life build cash value?

Your cash value earns interest based on how a market index performs, up to a limit called a cap. When the index falls, a floor (often 0%) keeps your credited interest from going negative.

Your money isn’t invested in the market directly, and policy charges are taken out along the way, so it’s worth going over the details together.

Will I need a medical exam?

No. None of our policies require a medical exam. Everything is done virtually, so there’s no doctor visit and no needles. You’ll answer a few health questions, and we’ll walk you through each step before you apply.

Does it cost anything to get a quote?

No. Getting a quote is free and there’s no obligation to buy.

Where is coverage available?

In every state except New York.
